Description

Lead and direct project construction and completions teams. Working closely with the Capital Projects and Engineering Managers develop oversight and control procedures to safely deliver all site construction activities leading to the successful delivery of all new facilities fully commissioned and ready for start into operation and meeting stakeholder quality requirements/project performance standards.

Key Responsibilities –  

Act as the accountable representative to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the construction completion and commissioning phases of the project. This will include ensuring the necessary facilities are in place to successfully manage a high number of Engineering contractor staff across several disciplines and internal resources dedicated to the project.

Act as the Organisations accountable person for all relevant stakeholder relationships, interfacing between Engineering contractors and internal departments including Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ and the site leadership team to ensure all parties have clear line of sight of the Project operation and goals.

Develop and implement all necessary Health and Safety procedures and arrangements for successful construction and commissioning phases with a zero-harm target and mindset. Exhibit excellence in safety leadership and ensure all parties do not compromise on safety performance and behaviours.

Identify, select and staff the construction and completions teams. Lead and direct field commissioning with support from the Engineering Manager and transfer the custody care and control of new facilities to operations for production start-up. Ensure inspection test record (ITR) and punch-list are accepted by operations start up team before production start up.

Work with Operations and the Logistics team to minimise the impact of the construction and commissioning activity on both the ongoing business needs and the costs incurred from contractor standing time.  

Actively promote and communicate the Transcend project to the workforce, management and community to represent the company and project well.

Description –

A safety leader and Senior Operations & Maintenance professional with a proven track record in leadership of petrochemical plants and production facilities. Degree qualified with chartered status is preferable but similar experience demonstrating increasing career responsibility is acceptable (HNC, BSc, B. Eng or C.Eng. etc). Experience of similar roles in major capital projects is desirable (company client representative etc.)

Key Responsibilities – 

The Transcend Project Operations Manager has oversight and accountability for the preparation and readiness to operate all new plant, equipment and facilities delivered by the project. The provision of operations input into the Engineering design to ensure the new plant is operable and equipment selection fit for purpose. The incumbent shall be accountable for the preparation of new facilities operation and maintenance plans. This will include the identification of spares, storage (inc. preservation & maintenance) and call off arrangements with original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The role will identify operating procedures, competency profiles and training plans as required by the Transcend program and help embed this into the site operations team. A key part of the role is operations readiness to start up and operate a new plant with zero incidents or events as site acceptance authority on behalf of the Site Manager and Operations team. This role requires strong team leadership and organisation skills with the ability to communicate throughout the business using written, verbal and presentation skills.

Description – 

  • Leads the schedule, cost, scope change and risk management support to the project.
  • Oversee the set up and running of all required project controls systems, tools, and interfaces to allow successful management and reporting of the project costs, schedule and risks on the project.
  • Primary focal point for the project director, project team and customer (reporting) for all matters relating to project costs, schedules, and risk.
  • Develops and implements the project control execution plan for the project.
  • Interfaces as appropriate with a number of key stakeholders across the project and wider SP&S business.

Key Responsibilities – 

  • Monitor overall project / assignment progress status, achievement and non-achievement of major milestones and analyse and forecast performance in relation to plan.
  • Identification, monitoring and reporting against the project critical path providing early warning to the project director of any potential slippages.
  • Timely control and forecasting of budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the budget and schedules if applicable.
  • Lead major cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions both internally and with the customer if appropriate.
  • Ensure risk is managed and monitored at project level in line with SP&S standards and processes.
  • Lead the reporting of project status and KPI to management as part of Project Governance Standard.
  • Ensures that project lessons learned are captured and implemented in support of continuous improvement.
